CLICI

Center for Italian Language and Culture of the University of Rome "Tor Vergata"

The CLICI – Center for Italian Language and Culture of the University of Rome "Tor Vergata" - promotes the diffusion of Italian language and culture through cultural and educational initiatives (conferences, congresses, courses, etc.) and offers Courses in Italian language and culture both to Tor Vergata students and to foreigners from all over the world.

The Courses (30 hours each) will be run from 15th October to 21st December 2017 (1st-semester courses)and from March to June 2018 (2nd-semester courses). Each course consists of evening lessons. Courses are free Tor Vergata University students (Erasmus students, Undergraduate students, Postgraduate students, PhD students, etc.). From 15th July to 15th September 2017 (1st-semester courses) and from 21st December 2017 to 28th February 2018 (2nd-semester courses).

All the applying students (except for absolute beginners) are requested to take the placement test which will be held before the start of each course. The placement tests of the 1st semester will start on 11th September 2017. Students who register in time will be provided with the necessary information about the placement test. Each class will be run only if the minimum number of 15 students for that language level is reached. Therefore, students who register do engage themselves in attending the course: as soon as they receive the confirmation that the Course is going to be run, they have to confirm their participation in the course by e-mail (info.linguaitaliana@uniroma2.it) by 7th October 2017 (for the 1st-semester courses) and by 7th March 2018 (for the 2nd-semester courses).

Tandem Project

Learn a new Language in Tandem

What is Tandem?

Tandem is a linguistic exchange between two people who have a common interest: learning or improving a foreign language. The intercultural character of this exchange allows not only learning a language but also having a direct experience of the culture and lifestyle of the other. This is an effective example of "peer learning".

Who can participate?
All students enrolled at the University of Tor Vergata and the internal staff of the University can participate.

How do the matches work?
The language laboratory staff arranges matches based on the received adverts and communicates to the direct participants via e-mail. At this point the partners agree the first meeting and the successive ones in full autonomy.

How do you sign up?
Students interested can come to the language lab to enroll in the program.

Language Lab

Learn Italian in Rome

The Language Laboratory was established at the Faculty of Economics in 1995. It is a combination of a classic type of audio-active-comparative language laboratory and a library. This structure was created and designed to promote self-learning of Italian, English, French, German, Spanish and other languages. The Language Laboratory is used as a support for lectures held in the Faculty and also independently.
The material available in the Laboratory includes the most modern and effective foreign language teaching methods, consisting of: language courses on tape and CD-ROM, interactive listening materials, educational videotapes, films in original language, educational software, simplified reading books of various levels, dictionaries and more. There is also a good selection of magazines and newspapers in various languages, many books, role playing board games and other suitable material to stimulate verbal communication. Course material is available, classified by colour according to their level.

Students will be required to enroll to an assessment test, necessary to evaluate the level of Italian. The assessment test will take place next February 25th at the Laboratorio Linguistico (Edificio A, 2° piano), from 10.00am to 1.00 pm.

The cycle of lectures starts March 4th with two different choices every Saturday: one starting at 10.00am the next starting at 12.00pm.
