Professor Dermot Breslin from the University of Sheffield (UK) Management School, will be visiting University of Rome Tor Vergata's Department of Business Government Philosophy Studies from April to May 2015 and teaching Entrepreneurship for students of our Master of Science in Business Administration course.
Dermot Breslin is a Lecturer in Entrepreneurship at the University of Sheffield, UK and visiting professor in entrepreneurship at the University of Saarlandes, Germany, and Tor Vergata Rome. Dermot is a chartered engineer, and has 14 years experience in the Steel and Aluminium industries. This experience includes a period in plant maintenance and production for a range of global organizations including Alcan Aluminium, Co-Steel and ILVA Taranto. He has also worked in plant design and sales for Siemens VAI (Austria), securing major capital contracts with a number of clients including Outokoumpo (Finland), Tata Steel (India) and AK Steel (USA). Since he moved into academia in 2005, Dermot’s research has focused on the emergence and co-evolution of practices within organizations, using a number of research methods including experimental design, ethnographic studies and agent-based modeling techniques. To date he has completed studies in the care sector, domestic fire service, university spin-outs and technology development industries. Dermot’s current work also focuses on group behaviors and creativity, and has run a number of industry-based workshops on creativity. He has published and reviewed in a number of international journals, co-edited special issues for the International Journal of Organizational Analysis, and Journal of Management & Governance and is currently associate editor for the International Journal of Management Reviews. |
