Ingeborg NIESTROY

has worked for many years in European and international policy-making and multi-stakeholder relations, inter alia as Director of the European network of Sustainable Development Councils (EEAC), including active participation in the Rio+20 process and the development of the SDGs. She is Associate and EU liaison of the International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD) and affiliated with the Environmental Policy Research Centre (FFU) Berlin. She is geographer and received a PhD on decision-making processes with Strategic Environmental Assessment from the TU Berlin. Inge has (co-)authored and collaborated in a number of international studies and discussion/journal papers on governance and SD strategies, as well as in research on impact assessment. She was rapporteur of a European Commission Expert Group on the role of science, technology and innovation in implementing the SDGs, and is currently inter alia collaborating with the German Development Institute and GIZ on the 2030 Agenda.
