Andrea Montanino

is the Director of the Global Business and Economics Program at the Atlantic Council, a Washington DC based think tank with more than 150 analysts.
Previously, he had a professional career in public institutions: he served as Executive Director of the International Monetary Fund (2012 – 2014), as economic adviser of Minister Padoa-Schioppa (2006 – 2008), as Director at the Treasury Department (2008-2012), as senior economist at the European Commission in the Directorate General for Economic and Financial Affairs (2001-2005), as economist at the Prime Minister’s Office (1999-2001).
He was board member of F2i (Fondi Italiani per le Infrastrutture), Fondo Italiano d’Investimento, MedioCredito Centrale – Banca del Mezzogiorno and Sogei.
He holds a doctorate from the University of Rome “La Sapienza” and a Master’s degree from the London School of Economics.
