Urban & Disaster Risk Management Specialist
Erdem Ergin is a disaster and risk management expert with the World Bank. He holds a Master of Sciences in System Engineering from George Washington University and a Master of Design Studies from the Graduate Design School of Harvard University.
He worked on disaster risk management in Turkey, the US, Haiti, Jamaica, Niger and Burkina Faso in various activities before, during and after natural disasters.
Most recently he took part in the economic damage assessment of the Balkan floods (May 2014). He is currently working on urban risks and ways to protect critical infrastructure. His fields of expertise are risk assessment and risk reduction, disaster preparedness and response, development planning and policy analysis.
