Coursework Phase

Courses are taught over two terms (Fall, and Spring) in the first two years. Taught courses usually consist of 12, 18 or 36 hours of lectures and may be organized over either 2, 3 or 6 weeks.
To test progress in the program, exams are given in January and in June.

Courses are divided into three fields: Econometrics and Quantitative Finance, Macroeconomics and Microeconomics.
In addition to taught courses, students are invited to attend the reading groups and the weekly seminars.

In the first academic year, we provide review and basic courses. Ph.D. students are required to attend all of them for a maximum of 370 hours. PhD students could ask for a motivated dispensation from any course (see instruction here below), but they need to attend at least 240 lecture hours.

In the second academic year, we will provide specific topic elective courses in the three fields for the PhD students in their 2nd year or following years.
