Regolamento esame

IMPORTANT: ONLY STUDENTS REGISTERED IN DELPHI CAN TAKE THE FINAL EXAM. LATE REGISTRATION VIA E-MAIL WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. THE ASSIGNMENT IS SENT VIA TEAMS (IT CAN BE FOUND UNDER ATTIVIA'/ASSIGNMENT) AND SHOULD BE SENT BACK VIA TEAMS (IT CAN BE FOUND UNDER ATTIVIA'/ASSIGNMENT) BY THE INDICATED DEADLINE.

The final exam for the course consists of a take-home exam, in which students will be asked to individually perform a set of statistical and econometric analysis similar to those presented in class. Students will be given the dataset needed to perform such an analysis. The take-home exam is integrated with an oral discussion.

Students will receive the exam, with instructions and the deadline clearly specified, approximately four days before the official call. Deadline is usually the day before the call, so that the oral discussion of the mark can take place on the day of the call. On the deadline date, students must submit via e-mail the .do file, which professors must be able to fully run, the final .dta and a .pdf file. The latter must include the output of all the required analysis, answers to specific questions included in the exam and the student’s comments of the results and justifications for the methodology used.

UPDATE May 2020. Until further notice, exams will take place on Microsoft Teams. The take-home exam will be distributed on Teams (and no longer via e-mail); the oral discussion will also take place on Teams on the date of the call. Students must make sure that they have access to the Team of the course AND register on Delphi five days before the call. The take-home exam will be posted in the section "Assignment" ("Attività") of Teams five days before the call; only students registered on Delphi will have access to the material for the exam. Students will have to turn in their exam in the same section. Late turns-in will not be accepted. The evaluation of the take-home exam will be integrated with an oral discussion on the official day of the call.

Regarding the oral discussion, please read the official procedure here: https://en.uniroma2.it/news/coronavirus-update-13-online-oral-exams-procedure/

Bonus points and attendance.  Attendance will be monitored and 1 bonus point is granted to students’ who attended 15 classes out of 18 ( +80 % of the course). During the course, students can perform exercises on Stata in class (during laboratory hours). Overall, a maximum of 2 bonus points will be granted to students who successfully perform such exercises. Please note that bonus points (max 3) are valid only for attending students who take the pre-exam. Any bonus is lost after that week. Update March 2020: bonus points are extended to the summer session.

Mid-term exam. A mid-term exam will be granted in the dedicated week. Students will receive via e-mail the take-home project at the end of the lecture term and will have to submit it on the indicated deadline. Exams will be evaluated on the following days. The take-home exam will be integrated with an oral discussion on the day of the call.

If you fail the pre-exam or you wish to improve your grade, you can sit for the official exam in the same exam session. However, you will lose the grade of the pre-exam if you take the exam again.

Regular calls. Students who take the exam in any other call different from the pre-exam, will have to perform a take-home exam as well. They will receive the assignment via email four days before the call, with the deadline clearly specified. Bonus points will not be considered in such calls. In order to receive the take-home exam, students must register on Delphi for the call of their choice.
