WVU Global Campus Read - Nomination of Students

West Virginia University has just announced its Campus Read program for the 2020-2021 academic year. Participate in a 1-credit asynchronous WVU online course during  the Fall 2020 semester.

West Virginia University has just announced its Campus Read program for the 2020-2021 academic year. Each year, WVU selects a new book that every student, faculty, and staff members are encouraged to read. Activities on campus throughout the year are planned based on themes in the book, and classroom discussions across fields use scenarios in the book to illustrate course topics. The intent is to give all members of the community a basis for conversation, whether an ice breaker, small talk, or deeper discussion on hard, global topics.

This course will be based on this year’s selection, The Girl Who Smiled Beads: A Story of War and What Comes After by Clemantine Wamariya. It will encourage conversation and collaboration between WVU students and students from our exchange partners around the world. All students will have access to course content, WVU Campus Read virtual events, and will receive a WVU transcript upon completion.

Students will be admitted as non-degree, visiting students through the WVU Exchange Program, therefore all university tuition and fees will be waived. Students participating for Fall 2020 will not be counted in the current exchange balances for this pilot program, and they will still be eligible for exchange at WVU in the future.
