ZMACHYNSKAYA

My name is Alexandra and I am from Minsk, Belarus. I graduated as a Landscape Architecture Engineer from Belarusian State Technological University and began my career at a state organization responsible for the maintenance of urban green areas. Afterwards I was working as a Leading Forest Engineer at the Main Housing Directorate of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Belarus. I join MESCI programme as the second year of a double Master’s degree “International Cooperation in Urban Development”, which I started at Technische Universität Darmstadt, Germany, last year. Having been introduced to the main issues of cities worldwide, I became interested in the economic side of international development. My area of interests includes sustainable development and green economy and I believe that studying development economics will bring me to a new professional level and I will enter a new stage in attaining my career goals. I consider MESCI as an excellent growth opportunity that will help me achieve a high degree of expertise in development economics after completing the Master’s degree.
