PhD Candidate and Research Fellow at the Zeppelin University, Friedrichshafen, Germany, Chair of International Economics. She obtained her Master’s Degree in Economics from the University of Torino, Italy under the supervision of Prof. Mario Deaglio. She was recently nominated and selected as Young Economist by the 6th Lindau Nobel Laureates Meeting in Economics, which is held yearly in Lindau, Germany. She was awarded the 2016 “Giancarlo Marini” Award for Young Economists on “Regional Quality and Impaired Firms”, and the 2015 “Giorgio Rota” best paper Award on “The Economics of Illegal Activities and Corruption”. In 2011 she was among the winners of the project “Reading Economics” promoted by the Fondazione CRT on “Banks and Financial Institutions”. Ms. De Martiis is also Research Fellow of the “Einaudi Institute” of Torino Italy and previously Junior Researcher for the Emerging Crimes Unit at the United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute (UNICRI). Since February 2017 she is also corresponding member of the Turin Center on Emerging Economies (OEET). The key topics of her research are political economy, inequality, regional economics and monetary economics.
