The City of Rome publishes an annual call for applications for grants intended to supplement the rental fees. To access the contributions tenants must meet the minimum requirements indicated. The resources for funding are those of the National Fund for supporting access to rented housing, whose annual budget is determined by the Financial Act. All updates on the announcement can be found on the website of the Lazio Region.

Laziodisu RESIDENCES

The Organization for the Right to University Studies in Lazio (Laziodisu) assigns to the extent of their availability and for a period not exceeding 11 months of the year (excluding August), housing accommodation at its offsite students enrolled in a degree program in one of the universities of Lazio. The Notice of competitions, which Laziodisu publish annually between August and September, allows winner students to enjoy the benefits on the basis of economic requirements (calculated by the ISEE - indicator of equivalent economic situation) and merit. Among the various benefits the student can have access is the accommodation, which is however generally assigned around the middle of November.

AGENCY OF RENTALS

Promoted by the Lazio Region, the agency rents born at the hands of Laziodisu, thanks to the cooperation with the unions of tenants and owners. The aim is to facilitate offsite university students, enrolled at the universities of Rome, Cassino and Viterbo in search of houses for rent at a fair price and with the possibility to attend the course. Moreover it ensures tax benefits and guarantees for owners. The Agency manages the rental requests and offers received, taking into account the availability and the specific needs of students and owners, through an online service. It also provides information on the types of contracts and support for their stipulation.

PRIVATE MARKET

The rental market has reached high prices, especially in Rome and Milan, but still remains the preferred solution to most students. The best time to look for an apartment in the private market is between July and August. Moving in time gives more chances to find the accommodation that best suits your needs, location and price. Many offers are on the bulletin boards of faculties where every day dozens of people publish their ads to search / offer housing, books and so on... Alternatively there are journals and obviously, the Internet search.

The UNIPLACES , ERASMUS-U and the STURENT platforms are websites dedicated to finding and booking safe student accommodation.

The UNIVERSITY COLLEGES

They are centers for college students with  housing functions associated with a human, academic and professional project. Students colleges are entitled to accommodation, meals and other services. Alongside the paid accommodation each year are available to students a number of scholarships that allow most deserving ones not to pay the annual fee. In this regard, attention must be paid to the deadlines of individual calls (in some cases already late May).

CX

CX is located within the university campus and allows students who live there to reach easily their seat of learning. It can accommodate about 1200 people in 718 apartments, either in single or double rooms and has a large number of services intended to deal with the university experience. To receive information, please send an email to hello.rome@cx-place.com  or connect to the website. 2021/2022 accommodation details are available here.
