The Department of Economics and Finance (DEF) at the University of Rome Tor Vergata invites expressions of interest for an assistant professor position in all areas of Economics and Finance (including Statistics and Financial Mathematics).
The position is for up to six years, and is subject to a midterm renewal after which candidates with a strong publications record may be considered for a tenure-track position (with a short probationary period).
The primary responsibility of an Assistant Professor is high-quality research; therefore, the teaching load is light (36 hours) and it is only allocated to graduate courses. Knowledge of Italian is not required.
Our Department is devoted to promote high-quality research, seminars and conference activities. The Department has been recently recognized by the Italian Ministry of University and Research as one of the best economics departments in the country and was awarded a large grant that supports an intense hiring policy at both junior and senior levels.
