Very important: students can only sit exams at the bachelor level. Even master students.

*Language requirements: in order to comply with the UKVI requirements for language proficiency students coming for a full academic year or otherwise requiring a Student Visa (for example because of the need to work) must send approved certification of their English language proficiency unless they are a national of a majority English speaking country. As you will see from this page, a wide range of qualifications are acceptable ranging from IELTS to DuoLingo.

However, most students coming for a single semester will be able to travel using a standard visitor visa. While we would prefer to hold copies of official certification, after consultation with our Immigration and Compliance Team, we have now been advised that for these students a Letter of Attestation from the home university stating that the nominated student has a minimum level of English of B2 based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, or equivalent, in all four areas (i.e. reading, writing, speaking and listening) will be sufficient.
