Wi-Fi
Tor Vergata University of Rome provides Wi-Fi coverage throughout the areas available on Campus.
HOW TO CONNECT TO THE UNIVERSITY Wi-Fi NETWORK?
When you try to connect to the Wi-Fi network, you will see:
- eduroam (the recommended access mode, with no bandwidth limitations and also working abroad);
- uniroma2-CP-NG (legacy technology based on captive portal).
The most widely used network is UNIROMA2-cp-NG, which can be accessed by entering a username and password that usually correspond to the student number (matricola) and password used for the Delphi System.
The Eduroam network is even more recommended; compared to Captive, it provides higher performance levels and it does not require credentials to be entered each time.
ADVANTAGES OF EDUROAM
Using Eduroam offers users several advantages. First of all, Eduroam guarantees a higher level of security, as the captive network requires credentials to be entered every time. Once configured, the Eduroam network will be automatically recognised by the device when the user is in an area covered by the network. This applies not only to the user's home university, but to all other universities participating in the initiative. This means that the device will automatically connect to the Eduroam Wi-Fi network, even abroad, in educational facilities covered by the service.
