Starting on April 19th 2018 at 9.00am in classroom S4 of University of Tor Vergata Faculty of Economics, Prof. Simone Borra will start his course entitled "Business Intelligence and Data Mining". Data mining, or intelligent analysis of information stored in data sets, has recently gained a substantial interest among practitioners in a variety of fields and industries. This course will provide the participants with understanding of the fundamental data mining methodologies, and with the ability of formulating and solving problems with them. A particular attention will be paid to applications of the most used statistical techniques. The lectures will be complemented with hands-on experience with data mining software. |
Prerequisites |
Student’s knowledge of fundamentals of probability and statistics as in the course “Business Statistics”. Previous experience with data analysis will be considered a plus, although it is not necessary. |
Exam |
Only students attending at least 80% of the scheduled lessons will be allowed to sit for the exam in order to obtain the 3 CFUs valid for the Extra-Activities. A report describing the analysis of a data set by using data mining methodology. |

Participation to this event will grant 3 Credits for extra activities to BA students. Deadline The deadline for registration is March 19th. Notice!
