In order to promote reflection and encourage research on equality and equal opportunities, the University of Tor Vergata has chosen to award graduation prizes to students who have completed a bachelor's or master's degree with a thesis focused on gender-related topics, regardless of their field of study.

These awards aim to recognize and promote the efforts of young people who, through their thesis work, demonstrate particular interest and sensitivity in addressing gender issues within the fields of medicine, economics, law, history, statistics, the humanities, and other areas.

The prizes are named in honor of Giulia Cecchettin, a biomedical engineering student at the University of Padua and a victim of femicide in November 2023.
