Gaetano Carboni is Group Executive Strategic Alliances in the Public Private Partnerships at MasterCard Worldwide. In this role, leveraging MasterCard assets and technology, he develops key relationships aimed at creating shared value in an inclusive economic environment. He is focused on initiatives which have a positive impact both on MasterCard and on underserved segments of the population in a number of countries. These initiatives involve MasterCard customers and consumers as well as partner organizations active in this space. Before this role he was the Global Products & Solutions General Manager for Europe, developing and implementing coordinated GP&S strategies and plans for the region, including Products, Marketing, Communications and Advisors. His role was to define GP&S activities in line with the regional priorities, as well as execute integrated solutions designed to deliver top line revenue growth. He joined MasterCard in 1991 after 11 years at the Italian Bankers Association. He has covered different roles in MasterCard among which he was Regional President Western Europe and General Manager European Regional Accounts and Sales Development. In this role he led MasterCard strategic customer relationships with Europe’s largest banks and developed business with MasterCard Europe Tier 3 accounts, approximately 250 banks across 33 different countries. Mr. Carboni graduated in 1978 in Political and Economic studies, with honors, at the University of Rome “La Sapienza” and he completed a Master in European Politics and Economics, with honors, at the Istituto di Studi Europei “Alcide De Gasperi” in 1979. |
