UFLP helps develop the business leaders of tomorrow

The Unilever Future Leaders Programme (UFLP) is about helping develop the business leaders of tomorrow - and quickly. It's designed to give you all the training and experience required to take on management responsibility in 24 months and the platform to help shape the future of some of the world's most loved brands. Unilever wants you to make a big impact for them... and that's going to involve them making a big impact on you.

You choose

Firstly, you choose the business area that best suits your aims and skills. We're such a broad organisation, there's something for all types of people, skills and interests. The options are: Customer Management (Sales); HR Management; Financial Management; Supply Chain Management; Business & Technology Management; Research & Development; and Marketing.

Three ways to learn business fast

We support your development, both personally and professionally, and to do this we focus on three key areas: formal learning, learning by experience and learning through people.

Formal learning

You will follow a world-class learning and development roadmap throughout the programme. This encompasses a range of general and leadership skills programmes delivered through e-learning and instructor-led training sessions. On top of this you will have additional training related to your specific business area.

We also provide full support for professional qualifications in the relevant business areas.

Learn by experience

It's the fastest way to learn. From day one you'll be given the responsibility to solve a variety of surprising and important issues - you'll have real ownership of key decisions. All elements of our business interact, so you'll be working with experts across many disciplines on a number of different placements. From day one, you will be collaborating with experts from both local and international teams across all of our functions. You'll work in different locations - for those people making the biggest impact,  that may be international assignments - and by experiencing multiple aspects of the business hands-on, you will be in a better position to take control of your career and drive your own development.

Learn through people

We'll invest in meeting your individual needs and help you develop your skills. You'll be supported through mentoring from experienced managers, receive individual coaching, and be provided with a "buddy", who will be a current or former trainee and understand what you are experiencing, having gone through it themselves. We will also run networking sessions with senior leaders during the programme alongside a trainee network of peers from various functions and cultures to support your journey to management.
