Professor Anne Drumaux, visiting from Université Libre de Brussels – Solvay Brussels School, Belgium, will teach two seminars during the Business Government Relations course: "Europe 2020 Strategy: a Quantitative and Qualitative Approach" (October 14th) and “Qualitative research: an introduction to textometry” (October 28th).

“Europe 2020 Strategy: a Quantitative and Qualitative Approach”

Europe 2020 is the sustainable development strategy agreed by member states in 2010. The seminar will focus on the nature of the dialogue between the European Council and the group of member states. Two methodologies (quantitative and qualitative) are used to test the effects of top-down or bottom-up effects through European semesters, and incitative effects through structural funds and partnerships. “North” versus “South” members states are compared.
October 14th 10-13 - Room TL

“Qualitative research: an introduction to textometry”

After an introduction, the seminar will focus on qualitative research using ©Alceste Software. The analysis will present in real time official European and Italian documents showing the types of analyses available (terms co-occurrences, AFC, clusters). The second session of the research seminar will detail the methodological side in order to enlighten the interest of such approaches.
