The Programme in Brief

The Master of Science in Business Administration (laurea magistrale - LM 77 Scienze economico-aziendali) is a two-year programme entirely taught in English, which is designed for students interested in a training programme on advanced topics related to Business Management and wish to pursue an international career

The Degree Program is structured into a first year consisting of core courses common to all students, aimed at deepening general foundational knowledge, and a second year comprising specialized courses differentiated according to the following curricula: Control, Auditing & Risk Management, HR in Transformational Change, Marketing & Sales, Supply Chain Management and Management.

Digitalization, sustainability, and soft skills represent transversal areas of competence and are therefore generally common across the various curricula and courses.

MISSION

The programme objective is to develop managerial skills, providing students with the necessary tools to operate in key areas of companies and allowing them to adapt to the rapid technological context changes that characterise the corporate world. The topics covered by the programme are strategic issues for both business and public or private institutions.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

In an increasingly globalized economic environment, the Master of Science in Business Administration is designed to meet the educational needs of students interested in advanced studies in business and management, and who aspire to pursue international careers

The programme aims to train graduates capable of operating in the field of economics and business management within a wide range of organizations—public or private, for-profit or non-profit—including management consulting firms.

The programme provides advanced analytical frameworks for understanding business systemsorganisational behaviour, and the management of structures, processes in contexts shaped by technological and organizational innovation. Emphasis is placed on the development and implementation of strategies aimed at generating sustainable value.

Building upon undergraduate studies in business, the course fosters a comprehensive managerial education through the acquisition of skills in environmental analysis (legal, macroeconomic, and quantitative), cross-functional management, and specialized competencies in areas such as finance, control, audit, risk management, marketing, logistics, procurement, and human resources.

EXPECTED LEARNING OUTCOMES

At the conclusion of their learning path, graduates of the Master of Science in Business Administration have acquired advanced knowledge and understanding of core issues in business management. In particular, they have developed a thorough comprehension of the key determinants of strategic business decision-making, as well as of the processes required to formulate and implement such decisions. This includes the acquisition of advanced operational tools relevant to managerial and administrative contexts.

This general knowledge is complemented by domain-specific expertise in areas such as: strategic management, contextualized within development planning; sustainability issues, understood in relation to innovations in corporate governance and supply chain management; marketing strategies, with an emphasis on the emerging opportunities offered by digital technologies; core principles of control and auditing, with a focus on identifying and managing economic and financial risks; and leadership and human resource development, also in connection with the opportunities arising from digital transformation.

TEACHING METHODS

The teaching method combines theory and practice, developing students’ programming skills as well as their problem-solving and decision-making abilities. The course’s strong focus on the globalized market equips students with the tools to understand and face current economic challenges with sound decision-making capabilities.

In particular, the program is characterized by a blended teaching methodology. The acquisition of knowledge and understanding is supported by attendance of theoretical lectures (also available online) and hands-on classroom exercises. Online courses are delivered via a dedicated LMS platform, where students can access materials and interactive activities designed to achieve their learning goals.

To make learning more engaging, core courses are enriched with practical exercises that serve both as operational deepening and tutoring support. Additionally, personalised tutoring is provided for the final thesis work to assist students in acquiring specific knowledge related to their research topic. Each online lesson is accompanied by videos explaining key concepts, readings, and supplementary materials (case studies, external links). Forum enable interaction with instructors and peers, along with an online workspace for group project. Assessment of knowledge and comprehension is conducted also through self-assessment quizzes on the platform, analysis and discussion of case studies (individually and in groups) with faculty and industry experts, alongside written/oral exams and the final thesis defense.

Students also have the opportunity to deepen their knowledge from a strictly practical perspective. For this reason, alongside the aforementioned blended teaching approach, seminars are held during the program by industry professionals.

In line with the goal of providing opportunities for applied learning, students are also guided and supported in undertaking internships at public and private companies, including those representing the consulted stakeholders.
