The PhD Programme offers a range of complementary training activities that support doctoral research and professional development. These activities complement the core curriculum and are open to PhD students throughout the program.

Research Methods in Economics and Policy

The Research Methods in Economics and Policy course introduces methodological aspects of economic research and policy analysis. The course covers research design, empirical methods, scientific communication, and the relationship between research and policymaking.

Job Market Training

Students approaching the academic job market can participate in a structured Job Market Training program organized jointly with the RED Programme and the Einaudi Institute for Economics and Finance (EIEF). The program follows the main stages of the academic job market and includes meetings with the placement committee, feedback on the Job Market Paper, guidance on application materials, presentation practice, and mock interviews. Students also receive a Job Market Manual with practical advice and a timeline for the placement process.  

Presentation and Communication Skills

Throughout the PhD program, students regularly present their research and receive feedback from faculty, fellow students, and visiting scholars.
