Zanier Valeria

Valeria Zanier, PhD (Ca’ Foscari) is Lecturer in Contemporary Chinese Studies at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (Belgium). Her research interests combine business history and Europe-China transnational relations. She has co-edited Europe and China in the Cold War. Exchanges beyond the Bloc Logic and the Sino-Soviet Split (Brill 2018) with M. Schaufelbuhel and M. Wyss; the Special Issue ‘Circumventing the Cold War: the parallel diplomacy of economic and cultural exchanges between Western Europe and Socialist China in the 1950s and 1960s’ with A. Romano, Modern Asian Studies (2017). She also contributed in: China, Hong Kong, and the Long 1970s in Global Perspective, edited by A. Westad and P. Roberts (Palgrave 2017). Her most recent projects include the study of the economic dimension of the Sino-Soviet alliance (European Review of History, forthcoming) and of the role of business interest associations in post-WWII Europe-China relations (Business History, forthcoming).
