Benedikt currently works as advisor to the Board at the Southeast Asia Disaster Risk Insurance Facility (SEADRIF) insurance company, a regional initiative to provide climate risk insurance to ASEAN governments. Previously Benedikt was program coordinator in the World Bank’s  Disaster Risk Finance and Insurance Program where he supported over 20 countries to manage climate and disaster shocks. He was closely involved in establishing multiple global initiatives, including with the G7 and G20. 

Previously he worked at the World Bank’s Global Facility for Disaster Reduction and Recovery (GFDRR) on strategy and partnerships. Benedikt has a master’s degree in Global Politics from the London School of Economics and a Bachelors in International Relations from the University of Birmingham.
