Sorrentino Alfonso

University of Rome Tor Vergata

Alfonso Sorrentino is a full professor of mathematical analysis at the Department of Mathematics of the University of Rome Tor Vergata.
His research interests lie in the field of Hamiltonian dynamical systems, with expertise spanning nonlinear analysis, differential geometry, and mathematical physics. After completing his Ph.D. in mathematics at Princeton university in 2008, he enriched his professional experience with academic positions at internationally renowned institutions, including the Fondation des Sciences Mathématiques in Paris (2008-2009) and the University of Cambridge (2009-2012).
His scientific contributions have been widely acknowledged through numerous invitations to international conferences, research stays at leading
institutes, and the receipt of several awards. Among the most significant recognitions are the "Fubini Prize" in 2018, the "Barcelona Dynamical Systems Prize" from the Societat Catalana de Matemàtiques in 2019, the "Best Paper Award (Gold medal)" from the International Consortium of Chinese Mathematicians in 2020, and the "Frontiers of Science Award" bestowed upon him at the International Congress of Basic Sciences held in Beijing in 2023.
