My name is Emma, I am 19 years old, and one of my biggest goals in life is to be happy and to travel as much as possible. My desire to explore the world is not just about visiting new places, but about learning from different cultures and understanding how people live and work together around the world.
A very important moment in my life was when I was 17 years old and decided to study abroad in the United States for an entire high school year. Living far from home helped me become more independent, flexible, and open-minded. Being in a different school and living in a new culture made me realize how much I enjoy international environments where people from different backgrounds come together.
To build on this international experience, I later took part in the IMUN (Italian Model United Nations) project in New York City. During this project, I experienced how international diplomacy works, practiced debate, and worked together with students from different countries to solve global problems. This experience was amazing and made me very interested in international relations. At the same time, I am also very curious about economics and how financial systems affect people's daily lives.
Because I am interested in both subjects and not ready to choose just one, Global Governance at Tor Vergata is the perfect choice for me. The program offers a complete approach that combines economics, politics, law, and social sciences. Studying entirely in English and having the chance to go abroad again matches my study and career goals perfectly.
Languages have always been a big passion of mine. Besides English, which I improved a lot during my year in the United States, I also speak French well. For me, learning languages is the best way to connect with people from other countries and understand their culture.
Outside of school, sport plays a huge role in my life. I have been playing competitive volleyball for 14 years. Practicing this sport at a high level for so long has taught me discipline, time management, and hard work. Volleyball also taught me how to be a good team player, communicate well under pressure, and support my teammates to reach a shared goal.
In conclusion, I hope that my international experiences, my dedication to sports, and my motivation to learn will allow me to contribute positively to the class. I would be truly grateful for the opportunity to study Global Governance at Tor Vergata and learn from this program.
