Tuition Fee Calculations for First Year Students

Once students have an ISEE-U indicator based on their family income, they can then calculate exactly how much tuition fee they will be required to pay each year. The amount students are required to pay is proportionate to their family’s income bracket. Students in the lowest income bracket will be required to pay a €156,00 fee per year. The mid-level income bracket corresponds to the payment of a proportionate fee according to the ISEE-U indicator which would not be more than €1.260,00. The maximum fee that students would be required to cover is €5.200,00 per year, which is applicable to families in the highest income bracket or to students who do not submit an ISEE-U financial assessment evaluation to the University before 15 December each year. During specific dates around Welcome Week, CAF representatives will be available to assist students on campus.

ISEE-U INDICATOR NUMBER

Tuition Fee Calculations and requirements for International Students

Tuition fees at the University of Rome Tor Vergata are based on each student’s family income. In order to calculate fees for international students, the University requires a Family Income Assessment Evaluation Form for University Students (Scheda Raccolta Dati per Indicatore Parificato), which can be issued only by the CAF Offices in Italy. The Family Income Assessment Evaluation Form for University Students costs €11.70, which the student pays for directly at the CAF Office.  A photocopy of the Family Income Assessment Evaluation Form for University Students must then be submitted to the International Students Office (Via Cracovia – University of Rome Tor Vergata Main Administrative Building, Rettorato) by 15 December. Any documents submitted should be legally translated and validated by the Italian Embassy on Consulate. The following documents must be submitted to the CAF Office to obtain the Family Income Assessment Evaluation Form for University Students:

• 2019 Income Tax Return indicating family income for the 2018 calendar year (approved by the Italian Diplomatic Authorities)

• Family Real Estate Patrimony (as of 31 December 2018)

• Family Status Certificate (as of 2018)

• Indication of any scholarships awarded in 2017 and 2018

• Indication of annual average bank account balance in the 2018 calendar year

• Copy of student’s passport

• Copy of student’s Italian Fiscal Code I.D. Number  (codice fiscale)

Please note: Students who do not submit the Family Income Assessment Evaluation Form for University Students to the University will be responsible for paying the maximum rate of the yearly tuition fee (which is reduced by 20% for the students coming from low-income economies or lower-middle-income economies).

Before international students arrive in Italy, and for each successive year of enrolment, their annual family income statement must be certified by the Italian Diplomatic Authorities in their home country, in particular at their local Italian Consulate or Embassy. Once the proper documentation is submitted to the local Italian Diplomatic Authority, students will then receive the certified documents required for submission at the CAF Office (Italian Tax Service Centres) in Rome. During specific dates around Welcome Week, CAF representatives will be available to assist students on campus.

As an alternative, students arriving after Welcome Week should immediately make an appointment at a CAF office to submit their certified family income statement. The CAF office will provide students with the correct form so they may proceed with their financial status evaluation which will then be used to determine each student’s specific annual tuition fee amount. Please read the detailed information below regarding the CAF Offices in Rome.
