Graduation requirements

In order to obtain the Master of Science degree, students are required to defend their thesis in front of an Examination Board. To be admitted to the graduation session students must have earned a minimum of 96 credits and must not have any pending financial obligations with the University of Rome Tor Vergata.

Students should keep in mind that depending on the kind of thesis they write, they should consider dedicating at least 3-6 months of time for the research, analysis and writing of the thesis. Students must contact a professor with a motivated request to be supervisor, well in advance, to decide a topic together and establish a timetable for the collection of data and the writing of each chapter. Thesis supervisors should be chosen from the professors with whom the students have sat at least one exam and whose area of research is pertinent to the student’s thesis topic. Students must send regular updates to their thesis supervisor, to keep them informed of their progress.

Students are kindly requested to indicate their expected graduation session to the EEBL Programme Office (msc@eebl.uniroma2.it) as soon as they have confirmation from their thesis supervisor that their work is proceeding according to schedule, or at least 60 days before graduation. Students must also keep in mind that any activity for 6 CFU, such as an internship or research project, must be concluded at least 45 days before graduation in order for the student or the Desk Imprese Office to send the credit recognition request to the EEBL Academic Council.
