the IEB-Universitat de Barcelona Chair in Energy Sustainability is an officially recognized research group of excellence becoming progressively integrated with international research groups. PhD students participate in an extensive range of academic activities, with several weekly seminars, being able to attend both those of our faculty and those of the Faculties of Economics at both the Autonomous University of Barcelona and Pompeu Fabra.

The Chair of Energy Sustainability is working on a set of research lines,  which Ph.D. students can join with their own contributions. Doctorate students have a shared office and all travel costs are covered to present their papers at conferences. At this time, the IEB, the institutional framework in which the Chair of Energy Sustainability operates, has 15  Ph.D. students from 6 different countries. The working environment is known for being both very stimulating for research and friendly.
