Italy's national public health system called the Servizio Sanitario Nazionale - SSN. The service provides basic care, intervention in case of emergency, diagnostic and specialist services, hospitalisation, and some pharmaceutical care. EU citizens enjoy the same level of treatment as Italian citizens. Non-EU citizens instead must obtain valid health insurance to get an entry visa for Italy.
All EEBL students receive numerous free health services offered by the Policlinico Tor Vergata (PTV), which is located near the Faculty of Economics. In particular, agreements with the Policlinico concern the prevention and treatment of obesity and eating disorders, access to psychologic counseling services, and free check-ups reserved for blood donors students.
HEALTH SERVICES OFFERED TO EEBL STUDENTS
The Department of Economics and Finance strongly recommends all non-EU students to register for the Servizio Sanitario Nazionale (SSN). Registration to the SSN is € 149.77 per year and allows citizens of non-European countries to enjoy all the health services guaranteed to EU citizens. The yearly fee provides coverage from January to December.
An alternative for students who require a temporary health insurance until January can be found on the Generali - INA-Assitalia website.
