When I first joined the MSc in Economics at Tor Vergata in 2019, I had one goal: I wanted to do cutting-edge research at the intersection of economics and finance in a top U.S. institution. After graduation, my dream has come true: I am working as a Research Assistant at the Stigler Center of the University of Chicago Booth School Business. In Chicago, I am having a wonderful experience, working for one of the most distinguished economists in the world and collaborating with talented and goal-driven researchers from many different countries. Currently, I am doing research at the forefront of empirical corporate finance and the MSc in Economics gave me the right toolkit to take on this challenge. A solid education in econometrics and quantitative subjects has proven to be extremely useful. The possibility to take finance classes (financial econometrics and asset pricing) as electives has turned out to be crucial. Also, a small and selected cohort and close supervision from faculty and staff enabled me to send competitive applications around the world. I strongly believe that the MSc in Economics at Tor Vergata is a wonderful program with a good reputation for high-quality teaching combined with an international and diverse audience of students.
