Obiettivi Formativi
Descrizione del corso
Questo modulo mira a rafforzare le conoscenze e la comprensione di ciascuno studente in merito a: 1) questioni chiave relative al lavoro in un ambiente professionale e alle dinamiche di un luogo di lavoro; 2) capacità dello studente di comunicare verbalmente e per iscritto, utilizzando stili appropriati per un contesto professionale; 3) sviluppare le loro capacità interpersonali, in particolare nella negoziazione in un ambiente competitivo; 4) utilizzare e rafforzare le loro capacità interpersonali nella realizzazione di una presentazione collaborativa e, inoltre, 5) rafforzare la fiducia personale e le capacità di ogni studente nell'avviare e plasmare la propria carriera, compreso 6) la comprensione e la produzione di documenti utili da utilizzare nel “mercato professionale”.Gli studenti apprenderanno i principali approcci e competenze manageriali sul posto di lavoro in materia di pianificazione, processo decisionale, comunicazione verbale e non verbale e avranno l'opportunità di mettere in pratica queste tecniche e competenze, a sostegno della loro crescita professionale. Verrà trattata un'ampia varietà di argomenti relativi all'occupazione e al posto di lavoro, adattati alle esigenze e agli interessi del gruppo di studenti.Verrà trattata la redazione di CV e curriculum vitae chiari e accattivanti, lettere di presentazione e lettere di motivazione - “materiale di marketing personale” - che possono essere utilizzati per candidarsi a posti di lavoro, apprendistati, tirocini e ulteriori studi. Si concentrerà inoltre sull'identificazione delle opportunità e sul rafforzamento delle capacità di sostenere un colloquio di lavoro attraverso esercizi pratici.
CONOSCENZA E COMPRENSIONE: Gli studenti svilupperanno una comprensione completa delle dinamiche dei vari contesti professionali e saranno informati sulle strategie e gli strumenti per affrontare con successo le sfide, massimizzare il loro contributo alle organizzazioni professionali e progredire nella propria carriera.
APPLICAZIONE DELLA CONOSCENZA E DELLA COMPRENSIONE: In classe gli studenti esploreranno, applicheranno e implementeranno le teorie e le pratiche fondamentali delle risorse umane, spiegando e dimostrando la loro comprensione. Nei compiti scritti, che costituiranno la parte principale della loro valutazione, dimostreranno la loro comprensione degli approcci e degli strumenti comunemente utilizzati in un ambiente di lavoro. Inoltre, per il corso dovranno produrre materiale di livello professionale che potrà essere utilizzato per candidarsi a un impiego, a tirocini, stage e studi superiori.
GIUDIZIO: Gli studenti lavoreranno in gruppo per generare argomenti, forme e stili propri per indagare e presentare argomenti più ampi legati al mondo del lavoro professionale. Utilizzeranno gli approcci e le tecniche di negoziazione appresi durante il corso per massimizzare le dinamiche di gruppo e i propri contributi. A livello individuale, per il compito finale, dovranno definire i propri obiettivi, argomenti e piano di ricerca utilizzando un approccio di Project Management.
COMUNICAZIONE: Gli studenti rafforzeranno le loro capacità di lavoro di gruppo e di squadra, le loro capacità di presentazione, la loro capacità di gestire team e processi attraverso la chiarezza nell'uso di un approccio e di strumenti di Project Management e impareranno a comunicare con i formati scritti previsti in un contesto professionale, in particolare la redazione di relazioni. Inoltre, impareranno gli approcci e i formati migliori da utilizzare nella creazione di “materiale di marketing personale”, dei loro CV, delle lettere di presentazione e delle lettere di motivazione.
CAPACITÀ DI APPRENDIMENTO: Si prevede che attraverso questo corso gli studenti applicheranno e approfondiranno le loro capacità di pensiero critico, creative e di problem solving, nonché le loro capacità di ricerca. Utilizzeranno le capacità di negoziazione appena apprese, rafforzando così le capacità comunicative e interpersonali. Metteranno in pratica le capacità di lavoro di squadra, risoluzione dei conflitti e leadership in piccoli gruppi. A livello individuale, applicheranno la definizione degli obiettivi, la pianificazione, l'autoregolamentazione e l'uso di adeguate capacità di scrittura e comunicazione.
Learning Objectives
Course Description
This module aims to strengthen each student’s knowledge and understanding of 1) key issues of working in a professional environment and the dynamics of a workplace; 2) the student’s abilities to communicate verbally and in writing, using styles appropriate for a professional setting; 3) to develop their interpersonal skills and in particular in negotiating in a competitive environment; 4) to use and strengthen their interpersonal skills in delivering a cooperative presentation, and, additionally, 5) it aims to strengthen each student’s personal confidence and capacities in starting and shaping their career, including, 6) in understanding and producing documents useful to use in the ‘professional marketplace’.
Students will learn about key management approaches and competencies in the workplace regarding planning, decision-making, verbal and non-verbal communication, and will have the opportunity to practice these techniques and skills, to support their professional growth. A wide variety of employment and workplace topics will be covered, tailored to the needs and interests of the student group.
It will cover the writing of clear and engaging CVs & Resumes, Cover Letters, and Personal Statements - ‘personal marketing material’ - which can be used when applying for jobs, apprenticeships, placements and further studies. It will also focus on identifying opportunities, and on strengthening job interview skills through practical exercises.
KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: Students will develop a comprehensive understanding of the dynamics of various professional workplace settings, and they will be informed about the strategies and tools to successfully navigate the challenges, maximise their contributions to the professional organisations, and progress their own careers.
APPLYING KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: In the classroom the students will explore, apply and implement fundamental Human Resource theories and practices, both explaining and demonstrating their understanding. In the written assignments, which will form the major part of their assessment, they will show their understanding of the approaches and tools commonly encountered in a workplace setting. Additionally, for the course they will be expected to produce professional level material that can be used to apply for employment, placements, internships and for further study.
MAKING JUDGEMENTS: Students will work within groups to generate their own topics, forms and styles to investigate and present wider topics connected with professional workplaces. They will use the approaches and techniques of Negotiation Skills which they will have learned within the course to maximise the group dynamics and their own contributions. On an individual level, for the final assignment, they will be expected to define their own goals, topics, and research plan using a Project Management approach.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS: The students will strengthen their group and team working skills; their presentation skills; their ability to manage teams and processes through the clarity of using a Project Management approach and tools; and learn to communicate with the expected written formats of a professional setting, specifically Report Writing. Additionally, they will learn the best approaches and formats to use in creating ‘personal marketing material’, their CVs, cover letters and personal statements.
LEARNING SKILLS: It is expected that through this course students will apply and deepen their critical thinking skills, creative and problem-solving skills, and their research skills. They will use newly learned Negotiation Skills, thereby strengthening Communication and Interpersonal Skills. They will practice Teamworking, Conflict Resolution and Leadership skills in small group settings. As individuals, they will apply goal setting, planning, self- regulation and thee use of appropriate written and communication skills.

Gli argomenti saranno trattati attraverso una combinazione di lezioni frontali, discussioni in classe, presentazioni, giochi di ruolo ed esercizi che daranno agli studenti l'opportunità di mettere alla prova il proprio comportamento in un ambiente protetto, al fine di esplorare e dimostrare la propria comprensione dei concetti. È richiesta la frequenza regolare alle lezioni e la partecipazione attiva, poiché sono fondamentali per il raggiungimento dei risultati di apprendimento. Oltre all'utilizzo di valutazioni diagnostiche e alla presentazione di compiti formativi, per il compito sommativo finale gli studenti dovranno preparare e svolgere una ricerca originale, quindi presentare una relazione scritta individuale che descriva in dettaglio gli obiettivi, le procedure, i risultati e le conclusioni della ricerca sulla base dei dati raccolti.

Teaching Method
The topics will be covered using a mix of lectures, class discussions, class presentations, role plays and exercises giving the students opportunities to deepen their knowledge, explore the concepts, and demonstrate their understanding of the material. Regular class attendance and active participation are expected, as they are key to achieving the learning outcomes. As well as using diagnostic assessments, and the presentation of formative assignments, as the students will be expected to prepare and carry out original research and to present the results in class. For the written assessment, the student will then submit an individual written Learning Portfolio detailing and reflecting upon specific themes covered by the lectures, discussions and exercises.

Teaching methods
The topics will be covered using a mix of lectures, class discussions, class presentations, role play, exercises giving the students opportunities to test their behavior in a protected environment, in order to explore and demonstrate their understanding of the concepts. Regular class attendance and active participation are expected, as they are key to achieving the learning outcomes. As well as using diagnostic assessments, and the presentation of formative assignments, for the final summative assignment, students will be expected to submit a learning portfolio.

Valutazione del corso
Durante le lezioni, gli studenti dovranno lavorare in piccoli gruppi e partecipare alla presentazione di almeno un progetto di gruppo in classe. Il compito finale consisterà nell'utilizzo individuale delle competenze e delle tecniche di ricerca acquisite per pianificare, ricercare e raccogliere dati primari al fine di redigere una relazione formale che presenti e discuta i risultati della propria ricerca.Gli studenti saranno valutati in base alla preparazione, alla frequenza e alla partecipazione attiva in classe, nonché al lavoro scritto finale, che comprenderà principalmente la relazione di ricerca, ma anche la presentazione della bozza e di un CV curato ed eventualmente di lettere di presentazione e dichiarazioni. Il voto finale del corso comprenderà il 25% per la partecipazione in classe e il 75% per le valutazioni scritte.Gli studenti che non presenteranno il lavoro entro la data concordata o non supereranno i compiti assegnati saranno tenuti a soddisfare i requisiti d'esame previsti per gli studenti non frequentanti e saranno valutati di conseguenza.Gli studenti non frequentanti dovranno leggere il materiale didattico fornito dal docente. Dovranno inoltre pianificare gli obiettivi e gli approcci della ricerca, condurre la ricerca e redigere due relazioni formali di lunghezza diversa, che presenteranno e discuteranno i risultati della loro ricerca. Dovranno inoltre tenere una presentazione su argomenti concordati e presentare il materiale scritto di supporto. Dovranno inoltre presentare il loro “materiale di marketing personale” rifinito. Il voto finale comprenderà il 25% per le presentazioni e il 75% per il lavoro scritto.
Gli studenti possono sostenere l'esame in tutte le date disponibili. non è previsto il salto d'appello. L'esame sarà valutato secondo i seguenti criteri:
- FAIL: importanti carenze e/o imprecisioni nella conoscenza e comprensione degli argomenti; limitata capacità di analisi e sintesi, frequenti generalizzazioni e limitate capacità critiche e di giudizio, gli argomenti sono esposti in modo incoerente e con un linguaggio inappropriato;
- 18-20: Conoscenza e comprensione appena sufficiente degli argomenti con possibili generalizzazioni e imperfezioni; sufficiente capacità di analisi, sintesi e autonomia di giudizio, gli argomenti sono frequentemente esposti in modo incoerente e con linguaggio inappropriato/tecnico;
- 21-23: Conoscenza e comprensione ordinaria degli argomenti; capacità di analisi e sintesi corretta con argomentazione logica sufficientemente coerente e linguaggio appropriato/tecnico.
- 24-26: Discreta conoscenza e comprensione degli argomenti; buone capacità di analisi e sintesi con argomentazioni espresse in modo rigoroso ma con un linguaggio non sempre appropriato/tecnico.
- 27-29: Conoscenza e comprensione completa degli argomenti; notevole capacità di analisi e sintesi. Buona autonomia di giudizio. Argomentazioni presentate in modo rigoroso e con un linguaggio appropriato/tecnico.
- 30-30L: Ottimo livello di conoscenza e comprensione approfondita degli argomenti. Ottime capacità di analisi e sintesi e autonomia di giudizio. Argomenti espressi in modo originale e con linguaggio tecnico appropriato.
Exam Rules
Course assessment
Assignments, marking and final grade
During the classes, students are expected to work actively in small groups and to be part of the delivery of group presentations in class. The final assignment will be for the student, individually, to submit a Learning Portfolio detailing and reflecting upon specific themes covered by the lectures, discussions and exercises.
Students’ attendance, active class participation and preparation will be noted, and this will be reflected in their final written work, which is based on that participation. The final mark will be 100% for the final written work and reflection in the Learning Portfolio.
Students who do not submit by the agreed due date, or fail the work assignments, will be required to fulfil the exam requirements of non-attending students, and be marked accordingly.
Students will also be considered not-attending if they will be absent to the 2 days of training on 1) Negotiation strategies and 2) the work-visit to the relevant professional organisation.
Non-attending students will be expected to read the course material set by the professor. They will also be expected to submit a Learning Portfolio comparable to the one of the attending students, plus include extra assignments to make up for missing presentations. The final mark will include 100% for the enhanced Learning Portfolio.
Following submission of both attending and non-attending students, if excessive use of AI is indicated, the submitted work will be rejected. At a suitable point the student will be tested in an oral exam which will examine their knowledge of their written work and the overall course material. It will be comprised of a series of questions requiring answers that clearly show familiarity with the themes and theories of the course. The final mark will consist of 50% for the written work and 50% for the oral exam.
The examination will be assessed according to the following criteria:
• FAIL: important deficiencies and/or inaccuracies in the knowledge and understanding of the topics; limited ability to analyse and synthesise, frequent generalisations and limited critical and judgemental skills, the topics are set out inconsistently and with inappropriate language;
• 18-20: Barely sufficient knowledge and understanding of the topics with possible generalisations and imperfections; sufficient capacity for analysis, synthesis and autonomy of judgement, the topics are frequently exposed in an incoherent manner and with inappropriate/technical language;
• 21-23: Routine knowledge and understanding of topics; ability to analyse and synthesise correctly with sufficiently coherent logical argumentation and appropriate/technical language
• 24-26: Fair knowledge and understanding of the topics; Good analytical and synthetic skills with arguments expressed in a rigorous manner but with language that is not always appropriate/technical.
• 27-29: Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the topics; considerable capacity for analysis and synthesis. Good autonomy of judgement. Arguments presented in a rigorous manner and with appropriate/technical language
• 30-30L: Excellent level of knowledge and thorough understanding of topics. Excellent analytical and synthetic skills and independent judgement. Arguments expressed in an original manner and with appropriate technical language.

E' necessario partecipare almeno all''80% del corso per essere considerato uno studente frequentante.
Gli studenti saranno considerati assenti anche se non parteciperanno ai 2 giorni di formazione su 1) Strategie di negoziazione e 2) visita di lavoro presso l'azienda interessata.
