Game Theory - Exam rules - summer and fall sessions 2021

The Game Theory exam consists of written+oral. All ads will be posted on the TEAMS channel of the exam date.

To attend the exam each student must register on the electronic system (Delphi system).

Registration for the exam closes ONE WEEK before the date of the written exam.

Following university indications, the written exam is PRIORITARILY in presence. Motivation is to be provided through Delphi for an online written exam. Each student should indicate on Delphi, whether the written exam will be held in presence or online.

The written exam either in presence or online lasts at most 1h and 1/2. Admission to the oral exam is conditioned on passing the written exam.

The final grade will be registered on Delphi, and any communication about acceptance/rejection of the final grade between the student and the lecturer will occur through the Delphi system.

Students should follow the best practice to fully prepare for an exam on one date. Then, if something unexpected happens, the student has the option to present her/his candidacy on a second date. By no means, this possibility is to be interpreted as attempting at passing an exam without being fully prepared.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE WRITTEN EXAMS OF THE WINTER SESSION 2020-21

Due to the persistence of the COVID-19 alert, the Game Theory exam in the fall will have the same structure of the summer and fall sessions, which I summarize below.

The written exam is constituted by a group of 15 questions, out of which you will have multiple choices, true/false and open questions.

On the day of the written exam, the test will be administered throught  MICROSOFT TEAMS/FORMS platform, ONLY to those students who registered through Delphi for the exam.

The test will last about 45 minutes, and each student will have to turn on his/her camera for the instructors to monitor.

In case very many students register for an exam, smaller groups will be formed and the time schedule of the written exams will be communicated at the start of the identification procedure.

Once a student is present at a written exam date and receives the test, withdrawing is NOT possible, the test will have to be handed in for evaluation and not handing in results in a fail.

If the result of the written test is positive, the student will attend an oral exam, according to the time-schedule communicated by the lecturer.

The final grade is based on the result of the test and on the evaluation of the oral exam.

Updates for the summer session May-July 2020

Due to the COVID19 emergency, the exams of the summer session 2020 cannot be organized in presence at university, we will have web-based exams (at distance) using MICROSOFT TEAMS.

To attend the exam each student must register on the electronic system (Delphi system).

The final exam is constituted by a written exam containing exercises and/or questions, such as multiple choices, true/false and /or open questions, and by an oral exam.

The written and oral exams have been scheduled, the dates are available on Delphi. Once the student is present at a written exam date and recevies the test in June and July, withdrawing is NOT possible, the test will have to be handed in for evaluation and not handing in results in a fail.

The exam can be taken two out of the three possible dates of the summer session, i.e. April, June and July.

The lecturer will publish on the web-page of the course the results of written tests, and then proceed with the oral according to the schedule.

The final garde will be registered through Delphi. Acceptance or rejection of the final grade must be comunicated via Delphi.

At the end of the course, students will be able to represent a strategic interaction in the form of a game, and to solve for the equilibrium strategies and outcomes.

Students will practice on a weekly basis with problem sets at home and tutorials in class.

The final exam is a written exam containing problems, exercises and open questions. It lasts about 2 hours.

The exam can only be taken once in each session. Withdrawing the written exam is possible, in which case the student leaves the room withouth handing in its exam and can sit in the following date of the same session.

There will be a pre-exam at the end of the course, the relevant period should be the first week of April 2020. The mid-term and the final exams have the same structure.

To attend the exam students must register on the electronic system (Delphi system). The lecturer will publish on the web-page of the course the results of exams, and will fix an office hour to discuss the results. Acceptance or rejection of the final grade must be comunicated via Delphi.
