Obiettivi Formativi
Il corso contribuisce al raggiungimento degli obiettivi del corso di laurea, in linea con i profili professionali e le opportunità di impiego previste, fornendo agli studenti nozioni utili per una comprensione approfondita e critica di alcuni dibattiti principali in macroeconomia.
CONOSCENZA E COMPRENSIONE:Al termine del corso, gli studenti conosceranno e comprenderanno gli elementi di base della macroeconomia, concentrandosi su imprese e tecnologia, mercati del lavoro, moneta e finanza, consumo e investimento, e politica macroeconomica.
APPLICARE CONOSCENZA E COMPRENSIONE:Dopo le lezioni, gli studenti consolideranno la loro conoscenza dei concetti fondamentali di macroeconomia e la capacità di applicare in modo autonomo le conoscenze acquisite al mondo reale.
CAPACITÀ COMUNICATIVE:Frequentando il corso e interagendo con il docente, gli studenti svilupperanno le loro capacità comunicative e la capacità di organizzare e condividere ragionamenti articolati.
CAPACITÀ DI APPRENDIMENTO:Attraverso lo studio della macroeconomia, gli studenti acquisiranno la capacità di analizzare e approfondire in modo autonomo argomenti specifici legati ai contenuti del corso.

Learning Outcomes
The course contributes to the achievement of the objectives of the degree course, in line with the professional profiles and employment outlets envisaged, providing students with notions useful for an in-depth and critical understanding of some major debates in macroeconomics
KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING:
At the end of the course, students will get to know and understand the the basic elements of macroeconomics, focusing on firms and technology, labor markets, money and finance, consumption and investment, and macroeconomic policy
APPLYING KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: Following the lectures, students will consolidate their knowledge of the fundamental concepts of macroeconomics and their ability to independently apply the knowledge they have acquired to the real world
COMMUNICATION SKILLS: By attending the course and interacting with the lecturer, students will develop their communication skills and their ability to organise and share articulate reasoning.
LEARNING SKILLS: Through the study of macroeconomics the students will acquire the ability to independently analyse and investigate specific topics related to the course contents.

Il programma del corso è suddiviso in 7 parti collegate tra loro:
1) Technology, population and growth
2) The firm: owners, managers and employees
3) The labour market: Wages, profits, and unemployment
4) Money, banks and the credit market
5) Economic fluctuations and unemployment
6) The multiplier model, unemployment and fiscal policy
7) Aggregate demand and aggregate supply
8) Inflation, unemployment and monetary policy
Durante ogni lezione, il docente presenta i contenuti previsti con l'ausilio di presentazioni power point e invita gli studenti alla riflessione critica e al dialogo.

The course programme is divided into 7 inter-related parts as follows:

During each lecture, the lecturer presents the planned content with the aid of power point presentations and invites students to critical reflection and dialogue.

Modalità di svolgimento
Il corso combina il tradizionale metodo di insegnamento basato su lezioni, esercizi e problemi, con discussioni in aula e attività in cui agli studenti vengono assegnati materiali da studiare prima delle lezioni.
Teaching methods
The course combines the traditional teaching method based on lectures, exercises and problems, with classroom discussions and activities with students being assigned material before class.
Regolamento Esame
Studenti frequentanti: Esame scritto finale (100%). L’esame finale consiste in un test scritto di 90 minuti. Il test è composto da tre domande aperte ed esercizi. Studenti non frequentanti: Esame scritto finale (100%). L’esame finale consiste in un test scritto di 120 minuti. Il test è composto da quattro domande aperte ed esercizi.
L’esame valuta la preparazione complessiva dello studente, la capacità di integrare le conoscenze delle diverse parti del programma, la consequenzialità del ragionamento, la capacità di analisi e la chiarezza di esposizione, in conformità con i descrittori di Dublino (1. conoscenza e comprensione; 2. applicare conoscenza e comprensione; 3. formulare giudizi; 4. capacità di apprendimento; 5. capacità comunicative).L’esame sarà valutato secondo i seguenti criteri:Inadeguato: gravi carenze e/o imprecisioni nelle conoscenze e comprensioni degli argomenti; gli argomenti sono esposti in modo incoerente e con linguaggio inappropriato.
18-20: conoscenza e comprensione appena sufficienti della maggior parte degli argomenti, con alcune lacune; capacità di analisi sufficiente; gli argomenti sono talvolta esposti in modo incoerente e con linguaggio inappropriato/tecnico.
21-23: conoscenza e comprensione di base della maggior parte degli argomenti; capacità di analizzare e sintetizzare correttamente con una sufficiente argomentazione logica coerente, con qualche possibile imprecisione nel linguaggio tecnico.
24-26: buona conoscenza e comprensione della maggior parte degli argomenti; buone capacità di analisi e sintesi con argomentazioni espresse in modo rigoroso, anche se con qualche imprecisione nel linguaggio tecnico.
27-29: conoscenza e comprensione complete degli argomenti; buona capacità di analisi e sintesi. Argomentazioni espresse in modo rigoroso e con linguaggio tecnico appropriato, con solo lievi imprecisioni.
30-30L: livello molto buono di conoscenza e comprensione approfondita degli argomenti. Eccellenti capacità analitiche e sintetiche e giudizio indipendente. Argomentazioni espresse in modo originale e con linguaggio tecnico appropriato.
Exam Rules
Attending students: Final written exam (100%). The final exam consists of a 90-minute written test. The test consists of three open questions and exercises
Non-attending students: Final written exam (100%). The final exam consists of a 120-minute written test. The test consists of four open questions and exercises.
The examination assesses the student's overall preparation, ability to integrate the knowledge of the different parts of the program, consequentiality of reasoning, analytical ability and clarity of presentation, in accordance with the Dublin descriptors (1. knowledge and understanding; 2. applying knowledge and understanding; 3. making judgements; 4. learning skills; 5. communication skills).
The examination will be graded according to the following criteria:
Unsuitable: important deficiencies and/or inaccuracies in the knowledge and understanding of the topics; the topics are exposed in an incoherent manner and with inappropriate language.
18-20: barely sufficient knowledge and understanding of most of the topics, with some missing items; sufficient capacity for analysis; the topics are sometimes exposed in an inconsistent manner and with inappropriate/technical language;
21-23: basic knowledge and understanding of most of the topics; ability to analyze and synthesize correctly with sufficiently coherent logical argumentation, with possibly some inaccuracy in the technical language.
24-26: good knowledge and understanding of most of the topics; good analytical and synthetic skills with rigorously expressed arguments, though with possibly a few inaccuracies in the technical language.
27-29: complete knowledge and understanding of the topics; good capacity for analysis and synthesis. Arguments presented in a rigorous manner and with appropriate/technical language, with only minor inaccuracies.
30-30L: very good level of knowledge and thorough understanding of topics. Excellent analytical and synthetic skills and independent judgement. Arguments expressed in an original manner and in appropriate technical language.
Modalità di frequenza
La presenza è obbligatoria fin dalla prima lezione ed è necessario partecipare al corso per essere considerato uno studente frequentante.
