Rules/requirements/timeline for thesis work in law (Prof. Conticelli/Raganelii courses) and antiplagiarism detection
Students must contact the supervisor at the latest six months in advance with respect to the graduation session. Students are expected to propose a topic in the subject area of the field of European Administrative Law or a list of topics.
Chapters must be sent separately to the supervisor according to a reasonable timeline and following a work plan, which students will have to send to the supervisor four months in advance with respect to the graduation session.
Submitting the complete draft without having sent each chapters separately is not recommended.
A complete draft of the thesis must be sent to the supervisor six weeks in advance, with respect to the date of the discussion.
The whole thesis will be submitted to originality check through the plagiarism-detection software Turnitin soon after.
No fixed percentage of non-original material is set in advance: minor or ambivalent results will require students to amend the thesis.
Students will be given two days for improving their work on the basis of the supervisor’s suggestions on textual matches following the Turnitin originality report.
Once the amending procedure is concluded, the supervisor will indicate the final substantial revisions on the merit of the students’ work.
Finally the supervisor will allow students to submit their work through the delphi system, according to the schedule decided by the EEBL Board for uploading the thesis. A final check of originality will be made by the EEBL secretariat.
Should major instances of plagiarism be detected, at any of the described stages, either the supervisor or the EEBL secretariat will report to the Ethics Committee.
It is the responsibility of students to comply with the abovementioned rules. As a consequence of non compliance with the rules, students will not be admitted for discussion.
