EU initiative DigiEduHack, twenty-four young European Universities (including Rome Tor Vergata)

mercoledì 30 ottobre 2024

Dear All,

let me remind you that, within the EU initiative DigiEduHack, twenty-four young European Universities (including Rome Tor Vergata) invites master students to an hackathon where they will actively explore how to apply AI in long-life learning education.

Let me highlight that during the hackathon you will have the opportunity to learn more about GenAI as well as to practice the use of the Design Thinking methodology.

Participants will be trained on the features of AI with a specific focus on its impact on digital education and will be engaged on the specific challenges of applying AI to professional long-life learning courses.

Would you like to join students from 24 European universities from November 8th to November 16th? The overall workload across this week is 24 hours, with a rather flexible schedule. If you will be active and come to an effective group proposal, you will be able to earn 3 credits as extra activities.

In case you like the idea, you can get more information at

All the best

Here are a few more information:

Approach: participants will be guided in developing their proposals according to the Design Thinking:

1) empathise, reflecting on the challenges professionals face to keep up with new AI tools and approaches;

2) discover, listing what extended reality can provide in overcoming such challenges;

3) define, focusing an AI-driven solution and specify the strengths of its value proposition;

4) ideate, reflecting on the match between the desired features and the currently available AI tools

5) prototype, sketching the selected features using currently available AI tools.

Goal: the primary goal of hackathon participants is to harness AI's potential to create innovative, large-scale digital courses for professional upskilling. It focuses on designing value propositions that enhance lifelong learning by combining technical and behavioural skills, while addressing the unique needs of professionals from diverse backgrounds. Participants will explore how AI can drive personalized learning and adaptive training in industries impacted by digital transformation and sustainability challenges.
