New Student Orientation 2021/22 | Welcome to MSc Economics Tor Vergata!

This page provides important information for new students of the MSc in Economics. 

To ensure your studies start smoothly, please study this page carefully and return to it often.

ENROLLMENT AND HOW TO ATTEND LECTURES

Classes begin on 30 August 2021Blended learning will be the official teaching method for the first semester of the 2021/2022 academic year i.e. lectures will be offered in presence and at the same time online for students who are not able to join the class in person. Please read here more about the Teaching modalities (lectures, exams, etc.).

NOTE: Following the University Decree N. 1896 (6 August 2021) which indicates that all classrooms of Building A of the School of Economics are to be used for the Medical Sciences Degree entrance tests on 13 and 14 September, all lectures scheduled for those dates will be held exclusively online via the Microsoft Teams platform. All in presence and blended teaching activities will resume in the Faculty of Economics as previously scheduled on 15 September.

IF YOU HAVE OBTAINED YOUR BACHELOR DEGREE (Laurea Triennale) you are allowed to proceed with the official enrollment. Please read carefully the instructions for the enrollment. Students can reserve an appointment with the Welcome Office to receive assistance for enrollment and other formalities.
Once you are issued a Student ID (matricola) you can access online services. You need to activate the university email address, activate Office365, and then register for classes through Delphi.

Starting from 30 August, you may:

  1. Attend lectures in person by booking a seat through Delphi 2 days before. Classrooms are located in Building A of the School of Economics (via Columbia 2). Please check the classroom number on the lecture timetable.
  2. Or attend lectures online on Microsoft Teams. Please read the instructions on how to join the online classes. The code/link to access the online classes is on each course webpage. If this is not available, you should ask your professor for it directly.

ADMITTED STUDENTS WHO HAVE NOT YET EARNED A BACHELOR DEGREE (LAUREA TRIENNALEOR STUDENTS WHO HAVE NOT OBTAINED THE STUDENT ID (MATRICOLA) OR COMPLETED ENROLLMENT can request a temporary Microsoft Teams account and attend lectures online. The code/link to access the online classes is on each course webpage. If this is not available, you should ask your professor for it directly. All students must complete enrollment by 5 November 2021.
NOTE: Tor Vergata Students who have not yet earned their Bachelor Degree can attend in presence reserving a seat through Delphi using their Bachelor Student ID (matricola).

HOW TO START THE PROGRAM

In the first module of the first semester (from 30 August to 21 October), students must follow the Statistics pre-course, the Mathematics course, and the first part of the Coding for Economic Applications course (Matlab). 

The Pre-course in Statistics will be taught during the first two weeks of the program, starting 30 August; the lectures are aimed at reviewing important concepts that will be useful for the other courses included in the program. On the course webpage you can find the syllabus, the timetable, the classroom number if you want to attend on-campus and the link if you want to attend online. 

The Mathematics course, held by Prof. Paolo Gibilisco, begins on 30 August (this is not a pre-course, it is the official course). The Statistics course, held by Prof. Maura Mezzetti, will begin on 13 September. The Coding for Economic Applications (Matlab) course, held by Prof. Antonio Parisi, will begin on 13 September.

UTV STUDENTS WELCOME 2021 AND WELCOME GUIDE
