General Management - Exam Rules for the Summer Session (June, 17th, 2020, or July, 8th, 2020)

Thursday 28 May 2020

Dear All,

these rules apply to whoever has to perform the overall exam in the Summer session (2020)

1) For technical reasons, only students registered on Delphi are allowed to perform any given call;

2) During a test, students have compulsory to use a webcam and a microphone. Both have to be necessarily kept on during the test (and the webcam needs to allow a full show of the student’s face);

3) The evaluation is totally oral, 3 open end questions which will continue to represent a good mix between theory and practice. The eventual extrapoints received for the McGraw Hill Practice Operations software remain valid (as anticipated, they will remain valid until February 2021 included);.

4) The evaluation will be performed on Teams. I will send the link with the channel in due time to the students registered for the exam.

5) NO kind of support is allowed during the oral evaluation.

6) Students who result as NOT SUFFICIENT need to jump a call (i.e. if a student is not sufficient on June, 17th, needs to come back in September). Students who are at least sufficient, but do not like their grade, do not need to jump a call (i.e. if a student is sufficient on June, 17th, but does not like the grade, can try again on July, 8th).

Exam Results - May, 27th, 2020 and next steps towards June, 4th, 2020

Thursday 28 May 2020

Dear All,:

1) I've uploaded a new file in the class materials (Exams Section) with your individual situation after the Module II evaluation held yesterday. Each position, when possibile, is expressed through your code ("matricola"). The grade proposed is the average between module I and II, plus the software extrapoints.

2) On June, 4th (12pm), you will have the possibility to register this grade or to perform an integrative oral. I've already created the meeting on Teams. If performing the oral, please remember that the potential class materials requested regard both module I and II. Performing an oral can increase or decrease your fnal evaluation.

3) Again, all the grades proposed in the file expire on June, 4th. After that date you will have to book for the regular June/July calls. Of course, all the students not in this list will have to perform the exam in the regular Summer sessions.

4) There is no additional need to book for June, 4th. Simply meet once again on Teams.

Thanks for the attention and best wishes.

IMPORTANT - May, 27th, 2020 Evaluation

Sunday 24 May 2020

Dear All,

after having made additional technical tests, I am finally communicating that the May, 27th, test will remain only oral (3 questions to be answered individually). In other words, the mode will remain exactly the same which we have used for the Module I evaluation. We will start at 9 am and tomorrow I will send you a mail on how I will organize the scheduling.

Oral Test, May, 27th, 2020: Class Materials suggested for the Study

Book Chapters: Strategies, Policies and Planning Premises; Decision Making; The Nature of Organizing, Entrepreneuring, and Reenginering; Leadership; The System and Process of Controlling; Control Techniques and Information Technology; Productivity, Operations Management, and Total Quality Management.
Slides on the website: All regarding module II.
Articles on the website: The Personality Factor.

At the end of your oral performance, you will immediately receive your grade for Module II (as I have aready done with module I).

Please note that, as already explained, every result of module I and II expires if not registered on June, 4th, 2020. Of course, in the case of an integrative oral on June, 4th, the topics of both module I and II can be all asked. Finally, performance which do not end on June 4th, do not deny the right to attend the regular Summer sessions.

Thanks for the attention and best wishes.

Simulation software - to do

Friday 17 April 2020

Dear all,
On April 24th we will start using the McGraw Hill software: all the instructions will be promptly provided alongisde this date. As a preliminary step:

a) it is important that ALL the people interested fill the following Google Excel with your groups groups of 4 people each (no less, no more)—> https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1LvYtjfmvwdmVuXAeXy1DmlUvAKhj-XDi-0Hlcw4y0bQ/edit?usp=sharing
Each group has to nominate a contact person (group leader). Please, do it by April 22nd.

b) if you are alone or, in general, you compose groups that have less than 4 people take into consideration that we will shift people as to compose teams of four people each. In both these cases, insert your name in the list and then we’ll make the necessary changes.

Remind - McGrawHill Practice Operations Simulation Software Exam

Wednesday 22 May 2019

Dear all,
Here you find important information about the simulation software exam on May 29th.
The exam will take place in classroom S2 and you will play in groups. There will be two shifts, morning and afternoon, in which your groups have been allocated. See the following schedule and be extremely punctual.

Morning groups (9.30-13.00): Grazia Maria Guerriero; Anna Cursi; Ester Sella; Senni Dahlström; Camilla Giovannelli; Ricard Pujol Minan; Alessia Sinatra; Alessia Petrucci; Denise Citti; Gulia Venuti; Dalila Isacco; Minh Ngoc Le; Hengyi Liang; Vasilii Bogdanov.

Afternoon groups (13.30-17.00): Alexandra Sofie Bartau; Matteo De Nicola; Fabio Llusku; Chiara Tenerini; Emanuele Dard; Jonathan Magzal; Lavinia Corsi; Eleonora Farina; Huy Hoang Pham; Tea Hysenshahaj; Lorenzo Fagiani; Sara Trajkoska; Giulio Rizzo; Vincent Palazzo.

Following you can find some other important info:

  • May 29th is the only date in which it will be possible, within the entire academic year, to take part of the simulation software exam;
  • Groups can take part of the simulation software exam even if some group components are not present;
  • It is not possible to change your shift, unless you find another group (placed in the opposed shift) that wants to invert turns. We will almost reach the maximum capacity of the IT room; adding too groups in a turn will cause problems;
  • Please, bring your own laptop (one for each group) as to have a ‘plan B’ if something with the IT room goes wrong;
  • The simulation software exam will be based on running your own entire firm [thus, including all the already experienced modules (production, suppliers, bidding, and HR) together];
  • You will have unlimited attempts (within your shift), but take into particular consideration that you must play 50 turns and it takes about 90 minutes to be entirely run. If you do not accomplish all the 50 turns within the time limit, the simulation will be considered as ‘Not passed’. This will not affect the score of your written test;
  • The simulation software exam will give you the possibility to take up to 2 extra points that will be added to your final score of the written test. Those points will be assigned according to your simulation software performance about ‘Net Worth’, ‘Reputation’ and ‘Score’. Performance of your prior modules will not be part of the evaluation;
  • Once you’ll have finished the simulation software exam, it is compulsory to immediately ask the teacher to take notes of your performance at your presence. If you do not do that, we will not be able to consider your exam as concluded.

Please, contact only Dr. Matteo Cristofaro for further questions: matteo.cristofaro@uniroma2.it

Pre-exam April, 3rd, 2019: Results and Next Steps

Friday 03 May 2019

Dear All,

the pre-exam results are now online in the class materials of the course.

Reminder for the next steps:

1) For those who want to see the papers: please, do not write mails; you are more than welcome to come in any of the next office hours, starting from April, 8th, (5pm-6pm);

2) those who want to register this grade (plus the eventual extrapoints with the software simulation) will have to book on the Delphi in the 1st June session, writing “Registration” in the notes;

3) those who want to perform the oral will have to book on the Delphi in the 1st June session, writing “Oral integration” in the notes; in this regard, the grade for the oral will start from this written grade, plus the eventual extrapoints with the software simulation. Depending on the oral performance, the final grade could be increased or decreased. Please, also note that the possibility to register the grade of the written test automatically expires if you decide to perform the oral performance.

4) For those who do not want to accept the grade of this pre-exam written test, you are more than welcome to repeat the test in the future (also in the 1st June call) following the traditional exam rules (written plus oral). The eventual extrapoints for the software simulation will remain valid for all the a.y. 2018/19 (February 2020 included).

Thanks and kind regards.

b) please, fill the following Google doc with your groups of 4 people each (no less, no more) --> https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1-7s3bE-YNbqIjZ8eVZtEMFpCa9qJtcZ-Dss5gGwIJ3w/edit?usp=sharing Each group has to nominate a contact person (group leader). That contact person needs to bring a laptop with her/him (point a above).

Thanks and regards.

Reminder, Pre-Exam: Follow Up and Guidelines to Conclude the Exam

Wednesday 09 May 2018

Dear All,

as you know:

1) those who did not pass the pre-exam can repeat the written test in any given call of the next exam sessions (up to the Winter 2019 session included). Booking on the Delphi will be always compulsory, as well as (in this case) also performing the oral test in its specific date scheduled; for the further details regarding the traditional exam sessions, please always refer to the exam rules' page on the  course's website;

2) those who passed the pre-exam and want to register the score (without oral) will have to book on the Delphi for the 1st call (May, 28th - June, 1st). In this case, please add "registering" to the notes while booking. The registration will take place on June, 1st (12pm), thus you will not need to be present in the written test date (May, 28th);

3) those who passed the pre-exam and want to perform the oral will have to book on the Delphi for the 1st call (May, 28th - June, 1st). In this case, please add "oral" to the notes while booking. The oral will take place on June, 1st (12pm), thus you will not need to be present in the written test date (May, 28th);

4) those who passed the pre-exam, but want to repeat the written test, can do it in any given call of the next exam sessions (up to the Winter 2019 session included). Booking on the Delphi will be always compulsory, as well as (in this case) also performing the oral test in its specific date scheduled; for the further details regarding the traditional exam sessions, please always refer to the exam rules' page on the  course's website; on this side, please also remember that repeating the written test automatically deletes the score previously obtained in the pre-exam.

5) please, consider that every written score (if positive) will be always increased of the extrapoints eventually deriving from the software simulation.

6) finally, please consider that your physical presence is mandatory to register the grade (it cannot be delegated).

Should you need further assistance, please do not hesitate to come to my office hours.

Thanks and kind regards.
