Final project presentations

Wednesday, January 7, 2026
Dear all,
I hope you had a nice winter break and started the New Year well.
I'm very much looking forward to your project presentations tomorrow and Friday. Please note that you will have 10 minutes and that time limits will be strictly enforced. Also, please save your projects (videos, slides...) to a USB drive to be plugged into the computer tomorrow. This will save us time and potential technical issues. Please do not use your own computers or drives on the cloud. If you do not have a USB drive, please email me today whatever material you wish to present (a link to a google drive or a wetransfer link would work). Finally, remember that your project will have to be accompanied by a paper, due the day of the written exam (please only 1 submission per group as a pdf emailed to me). The paper describes the project, explains how the book inspired it, and how the project relates to the contents we studied in the course. Formatting is not important to me - I will say that, generally, good papers are between 5 and 10 pages (use whatever margins, fonts, styles you like).
Best,

Prof. Brandimarte

Symposium

Thursday, December 4, 2025

Dear all,

if you haven't settled on a final project yet, consider doing something you could maybe expand and slightly modify for the Symposium. I would say the Truth topic would align well with any project on the ethics of information dissemination (mis/disinformation, favored by both human biases/limitations and algorithmic curation of online content, as well as modern technologies such as AI).

Best,

Prof. Brandimarte

Quiz 4

Monday, December 1, 2025

Dear all,

a reminder that our last quiz will be tomorrow on the following readings: In bots we distrust, Blind spot in AI, Lambrecht & Tucker 2016, Social Media and Democracy.

Best,

Prof. Brandimarte

Documentary open discussion

Wednesday, November 12, 2025

Dear all,

we will discuss the Coded Bias documentary on November 18. If you can, please also watch The Great Hack, but that's not mandatory.

Best,

Prof. Brandimarte
