My name is Elena Potitò, I’m 19 years old and I live in Rome. I have just graduated from the high school ‘Virgilio’, where I attended the international french section. Since I was a child I’ve always been interested in studying languages and discovering new cultures. Infact, I had the opportunity to travel a lot, undertaking volunteering trips in Togo, Brazil and Peru, students exchanges in France and participating to the Global Model United Citizens Network in New York. These experiences allowed me both to widen my perspective on the world and to deal with different cultures of our planet.
My experiences in my country have also given me the opportunity to face very significant realities. For example, I took part in a project aiming to teach italian to immigrants. Thanks to that, I’ve learned the importance of cooperation and solidarity between different cultures.
Having experienced very concretely the profound differences that make unique and original each culture, I am very motivated to deepen my knowledge about current issues and my analytyical skylls through multidisciplinary studies, offered by this course.
Moreover, I have always been passionate about photography, this is the reason why I’d like to combine both this passion and the strong interest in the discovery of new cultures to undertake a photojournalist career. On the other hand, I would also like to pursue a career related to the field of humanitarian rights, namely entering the world of united Nations or NGOs.
