LEGAL TRADITIONS AND COMPARATIVE LAW

Foundations of Public Law

Regolamento esame

Students enrolled in previous years (GG2, GG3 etc; when Prof. Buratti taught the Comparative Constitutional Law module) can decide whether to take the exam based on the old or new syllabus. The two options are, of course, alternatives.
GG1 students (2025–2026) will have to take the exam according to the 2025–2026 academic year Syllabus (Foundations of Public Law).

The exam is the same for both attending and non-attending students.

The exam of Foundations of Public Law (for both Syllabi) consists of two parts:

  • A written test, in multiple-choice format, consisting of 30 questions.
A minimum score of 18 out of 30 in the written test is required to proceed to the oral examination.

  • An oral exam, usually consisting of three questions.

The grade obtained in the written test is taken into account for the final grade, but not in a strictly arithmetic manner: passing the written test does not automatically guarantee passing the exam, and achieving only the minimum passing grade does not, in itself, prevent a student from obtaining the highest final grade.

It is not possible to review your written test immediately after the exam; an appointment must be made to do so during office hours.

The final grade for the Legal Traditions and Comparative Law exam will be the average of the grades obtained in the modules.
