Description

Dear Master Degree Students or PhD students,

Get ready to broaden your horizons and supercharge your skillset this Summer!

We are thrilled to announce the inaugural International Summer School, in partnership with the Sheffield University Management School. This is the first-ever Summer School and an unmissable opportunity for you to delve into the world of Accounting and Governance for the good of society.

Program Aims

The International Summer School aims to offer an interdisciplinary and critical view on some hot themes in Accounting and Corporate Governance, within the big picture of the historical transition from financial capitalism to stakeholder capitalism. Important themes which will be discussed are Artificial Intelligence, ESG and Business Ethics.

The school is open to:

  • students of Master’s degree;
  • Ph.D. students

This intensive 2-weeks programme will significantly contribute to the development of three key students’ skills, such as sustainability, critical thinking, and employability

The focus will be on sustainability and the common good, analysed from two main perspectives – Critical Accounting Theory and Italian “Economia Aziendale”, including some links with philosophy and Civil Economy, and adopting different theoretical and practical approaches.

The Summer School will involve guest-speakers from profession and industry, so building international networks, improving students’ employability, and opening new opportunities for collaboration and job placement. The opportunity to acquire multiple perspectives and to work on some real-world case studies with top-level academics and professionals, will significantly enhance students' critical thinking in deeply understanding and becoming leaders in the challenge of caring for our common home.

Here is why you should be excited:

  • Global Collaboration: Partner with fellow students from both universities.
  • Dual Location Experience: Immerse yourself in the vibrant academic cultures of Sheffield and Rome (all students will attend the sessions in both locations!).
  • Hot Topics, Deep Dives: Explore critical themes like accounting and governance for sustainability, stakeholder capitalism, and the impact of AI on Accounting.
  • Sharpen Your Skills: Develop essential skills in critical thinking, employability, and sustainability leadership.
  • Network Like a Pro: Build valuable connections with industry experts, academics, and professionals.
  • Unlock New Research and Job Opportunities: Open doors to potential collaborations in research and future job placements.
