2nd round of presentations - the schedule is set. Look for "23,24 and 29 April presentation schedule" in "material didattico"

Tuesday 09 April 2019

Hi class!

As promised, the schedule of 2nd round presentations is now set and uploaded. You see names, readings, dates, and also a suggested order for each day. The only piece missing is Leandro's presentation, which will be added to either 23 or 24 April group.

In consideration of the fact that the class grew in number and I need to fit in 2 very welcomed newcomers (Benedicte and Leandro)  I would kindly ask you to keep your 2n round  presentation WITHIN 15 MINUTES  rather than 20 min. You will still enjoy 10 minutes for Q&A and discussion, I do not want to cut that.

Have a nice and inspiring week,

Angela

Deciding the topics of last class' guest lecture

Monday 01 April 2019

This is the follow-up message of our in-class discussion today about the new course schedule of lectures and presentations.
We agreed It is interesting to maintain Dr Ricci’s guest lecture about globalizations on 17 April.

We agreed to try and preserve at least another one of Dr Ricci’s guest lectures, on the last day (30 April).

We have two pre-set options for the last class’ lecture:

1) The World After the Cold War
- The concept of World Order
- The global crisis after the Fall of the Berlin Wall
- The Unipolar destiny of US
- The Geography of Uncertainty

2) The New World Order
-  “End of History” vs. “Clash of Civilizations”
- “The revenge of Geography”: the geographical factor matters
- Brief overview of current geopolitical scenarios and crises (Ukraine, Lybia, MENA)

We may also decide we want to combine some elements from 1) and others from 2). In which case, please come to class with a plan already.

We shall solve this tomorrow as we see fit. Majority rule applies, but I am happier with consensus if we manage to achieve that.

01 & 02 April presentation list uploaded!

Wednesday 27 March 2019

Hi there,

I uploaded the list for next week presentations. PLEASE REMEMBER TO READ ALSO ARTICLE NNA 0 AS A INTRODUCTION TO YOUR CHOSEN ARTICLE.

For the other presentations, we need to revise a bit our course programme and hence the dates. No big deal, but we need more room for manoeuvering in terms of time. We shall do this at the beginning of class next Monday.

Have a nice week,

AR

Readings uploaded (with 2 new articles)

Monday 25 March 2019

You find all pdfs of the readings in the "Materiale didattico" folder, catalogued according to topic and presentation rounds – exactly as I presented them to you today.

You also have the file with the reading lists, to which I added one article to the NNA list (9_Hershberg – it is on Brazil) and one article to the 2nd round (14_Lorenzini – on Comecon and the South).

Cheers,

AR
