CLARIFICATION ON THURSDAY DISCUSSION ON PELOTON VS. TECHNOGYM
A student has asked me a couple of questions regarding Thursday discussion on Peloton vs Technogym. I thought it is probably good to share with everybody to avoid potential misunderstanding in other groups..
The questions regarding the strategies of the two company are not related to the past. We have covered the past in the prior class. Answers ashould be related to current or announced strategy for the future looking at the companies website, annual reports, presentation to investors, etc.. Objective is to summarize what is the company strategy from factual evidence.
I have also provided you two inputs for Technogym: look at the june 2023 press release on Healthness (i have attached it to the class material) and search if there is a specific strategy for the B2C business.
For Peloton I clarified that the company has been stabilized from a financial point of view and management is now free to focus on the growth strategy for the business. One obviuos strategy might be to grow the business organically through a higher market penetration with the current product and service offering, maybe more focused on markets outside the US. However, I said I let you free to figure out a different strategy if there is some factual evidence that Peloton has intention to pursue it.
In addition, I confirm you that Thursday you need to prepare a draft report which has all the answers to the questions I shared with you in class. You will deliver me a copy of the draft report (in paper) and we will discuss in class on Thursday. After the class dicussion, you can edit the paper, provide to me in a final document and I will ask one student for each group to briefly present changes between the draft paper and the final document on the following Monday lesson (April 27).

LESSON ON THURSDAY APRIL 9
Dear students,
as mentioned in class I have to cancel the class on Thursday April 9 scheduled at 4.00 pm.
It is highly probable it will be held on April 30, but need final confirmation regarding the availability of a classroom. I will confirm it beginning of next week.

Exam date, rescheduled lesson and case study for Friday March 27
Dear students of Strategic Management,
this is to inform you that the mid-term exam will be held on Monday March 30 at 11.00 am. It will be one hour long and will last until noon.
Monday March 30 lesson will start at 12.20 pm and will finish at 2.00 pm
The lesson of Monday March 23 - which was canceled for the Italian referendum - is now rescheduled on Friday April 13 from 9.00 to 11.00 am.
