Discussion of results (optional): Friday, May 29, 9:00 am, my office.

Dear students,

on Friday, 29 May, we will have our final in-class project session. The session will be dedicated to the presentation and discussion of your group projects.

Each group can decide whether to prepare a presentation or a pitch. Since we did not have the opportunity to explore other types of communication outputs together during the course, for this final class we will focus on these two formats.

A presentation is a structured explanation of the project work developed so far. It usually follows the main sections of the analytical report and presents the case, the analysis, the gaps identified, and the proposed alternatives.

A pitch is a shorter and more persuasive format. It still presents the main contents of the project, but it focuses more directly on the value of the proposed alternatives, their relevance, and their potential impact for a specific audience.

In both cases, the purpose is to present the project developed so far, including the main contents that are part of the analytical report. The presentation/pitch should help the group share its work, receive feedback from instructors and from the paired peer group, and use this feedback to revise and improve the final version before uploading it to Moodle.

Each group will have:

* 15 minutes for the presentation/pitch
* 5 minutes for discussion and feedback

During the presentation/pitch, please focus on the following points:

1. Brief introduction of the case and reasons for selecting it
2. Key insights from the context analysis
3. Main features of the current business model
4. Relevant sustainability and/or digital transformation practices
5. Main critical issues, gaps, or misalignments identified
6. Alternative courses of action proposed by the group
7. Expected value, impact, and possible challenges of your proposals

Please remember that the presentation/pitch should not be only descriptive. It should clearly explain the connection between your analysis, the gaps identified, and the alternatives you propose.

Since we did not have the opportunity to carry out the peer review activity earlier, we will use this final session also as a light peer feedback activity. Each group will be paired with another group and will be asked to provide focused feedback during the discussion.

The peer feedback should address, in particular:

* whether the project is clearly presented;
* whether the main findings of the analysis are clear;
* whether the gaps or critical issues identified by the presenting group are understandable;
* whether the proposed alternatives are coherent with the analysis;
* whether the alternatives are sufficiently specific and actionable;
* whether the role of sustainability and/or digital transformation is clear;
* one strength of the project;
* one suggestion for improvement before the final submission.

The peer feedback pairing is the following:

* Patagonia gives feedback to IKEA
* IKEA gives feedback to Incredible Edible Network
* Incredible Edible Network gives feedback to Airbus SE
* Airbus SE gives feedback to Back Market
* Back Market gives feedback to Patagonia

After the final class, each group should use the feedback received from instructors and peers to revise and improve the final work, including both the analytical report and the short presentation/pitch.

The final version of the analytical report and the communication output must be uploaded to Moodle by 9 June, the day before the first exam date, which is scheduled for 10 June.

Ai fini del conseguimento dei 3 CFU previsti per il corso Startup Lab, la valutazione si baserà su due criteri speculari: la frequenza e l'elaborazione di un project work di gruppo.

1. Criteri di Valutazione

• Frequenza: È richiesta la presenza alla maggioranza delle lezioni totali del corso.
• Project Work: Sviluppo e invio del Business Model Canvas relativo a un'idea di business originale.

2. Linee guida 

• Composizione: Massimo 5 studenti per team.
• Idea: L'idea di business è a totale discrezione e scelta del gruppo.
• Formato: Il lavoro deve essere sviluppato in formato slide (PowerPoint o PDF).
• Struttura: Il documento dovrà contenere 1 slide commentata per ciascuno dei 9 blocchi del Business Model Canvas, oltre al titolo del progetto e ai componenti del team.

3. Modalità e scadenze

Il progetto definitivo deve essere inviato via e-mail al Prof. Francesco Scafarto all'indirizzo: francesco.scafarto@uniroma2.it.

La consegna deve tassativamente avvenire entro 2 giorni prima dell'appello di verbalizzazione scelto, secondo il seguente calendario:

21 Maggio: presentazione lavori e conclusioni del corso.

As you will see you can choose among different alternatives on June 8th, 9th, 15th or 16th ... by the way, the timing of the discussion is indipendent from when you will come to the written exam (the evaluation of the assignment will be an add-on up to 3 points to the mark of your written test in module 2).

The discussions will take place online and every group member must be present ... so choose a suitable timing among the many options!

On Tuesday will discuss a bit more in detail the structure of the asssignment, but let me anticipate you that these online discussions will be entirely based on questions from my side and, based on the role that you will have identified, I will ask the manager of each area a specific question on a relevant section of your report!
