we are finished with the evaluation of the Stratex 26. A team of four has worked on your projects and we are very happy with the outcome. All projects are at least good, and many are excellent. Your work has drawn interest for external stakeholder, and if on the 22nd of May at 17.30 some of you want to briefly introduce online your group project video to an event of the Digital Heritage Foundation, just for a few minutes, that would be great. If so, each group representatives please write to me on our course mail and we will arrange the thing. If there are many, they are willling to do a specific event for you.

Technical and Timing Rules:

• Submission: Do not send presentation files in advance. All groups must bring their presentation on a USB pen drive on the day of their scheduled slot.

• Format: Files must be strictly in PDF or PPT format.

• Duration: Each group has 15 minutes for the presentation, followed by 5 minutes for Q&A. These time limits will be strictly enforced.

Esercitazioni per l'esame

Dear students,

please carefully read the following clarification regarding assessment methods, study materials, assignments, and course-related activities.

1. Sources for clarification on course requirements

Information regarding the course requirements, assessment methods, and assignments is already available in the documents published on the course website. In particular, students should refer to:

• Syllabus A.Y. 2025/2026;

• Introduction to the course;

• Instructions for individual assignment – non-attending students;

• Instructions for project development – attending students.

These documents explain how the course works, the assessment methods, the study materials, and which activities are required for attending and non-attending students.

2. Non-attending students: assessment and study materials

Non-attending students have two possible assessment options.

Option 1: written exam only

Non-attending students may take the written exam according to the requirements for non-attending students. In this case, the written exam counts for 100% of the final grade.

Option 2: written exam + individual assignment

Non-attending students may choose, if they wish, to complete the individual assignment. In this case, the final grade will be composed as follows:

• written exam: 60%;

• individual assignment: 40%.

The individual assignment for non-attending students is optional, not compulsory.

Therefore, if a non-attending student decides not to complete the individual assignment, they will be assessed through the written exam only.

If a non-attending student voluntarily decides to complete the individual assignment, they must follow the instructions provided in the document Instructions for individual assignment – non-attending students.

As regards the study materials, non-attending students must study:

• the materials available on the platform;

• the course materials available on the course website;

• the textbook chapters indicated in the syllabus for non-attending students.

3. Attending students: assessment, study materials, and course activities

For attending students, the assessment includes:

• written exam: 60%;

• group assignment on digital innovation and innovation for sustainability: 40%.

The programme for attending students is the same as for non-attending students, except for the textbook chapters specifically required for non-attending students.

Attending students are also required to take part in course-related activities connected to classroom participation. These activities may be both individual and group-based, and are designed to support learning during the course.

Since Moodle is also used to exchange materials and organize course-related activities, the sections dedicated specifically to individual activities and group-based activities have now been marked with the label “Only attending”.

These sections and activities are intended for attending students only and are not required for non-attending students.

Students are invited to consult the syllabus and the explanatory documents carefully, as the information on assessment methods, study materials, and assignments is already provided there.

an initial important remark: each group will receive (see below) a user name and a password .... and every group member will enter into SAP CALM with the group user name and password (the same for the whole group). KEEP TRACK OF YOUR PASSWORD and share it among all group members.

Therefore, in order to access SAP CALM platform, a representative for each group will have to go to

In doing so, report as user your group number, following the format described below (include your number without any space instead of # ).

As to the password, you all will have the same starting password

The group representative in each group will have to change the password immediately ... please write down the password so that you will remember it for future access and share the new password immediately with all the group members so that also them will be able to access!

At this point you can start the exercise and enter into your project, following step by step what is reported on the pdf CALM NPI guide (the detailed screenshoots supporting the access start at page 10).

On the course platform, you will find two additional files that are presenting you a few ideas on how different NPI processes are across the three industries as well as you will find the three use cases.

When a group had expressed a preference, I've taken it into account, when there was no preference, I've randmly assigned it. Be relaxed as there is no industry that is "easier" or "better"than the others.

... At this point, start working and see you online on Tuesday (but we will discuss the group assignments on Wednesday in presence ... eventually also online if you cannot attend but try and be present so the discussion will run smoother!)

Dear All,

as we are running a bit in late, next week we will recover by having two classes:

- on Tuesday at 10:00 online (as we did in the previous weeks), where we will look at the Enterprise Information Systems + ERP & more ... to make it more concrete a part of the class we will feature an IBM consultant who is supporting companies in implementing advanced IT systems (including AI applications). 

- on Wednesday at 13:00 in presence (as from the official timetable), where we will see how AI is transforming the way work and business are carried out ... during the class we will have time to meet with WecloudIT to check your progress on the group assignment. I'll share with the 22 groups that are engaging in the group assignments the link and passwords to get into SAP CALM. I'll be sending soon a dedicated message. During the week-end and at the beginning of next week, get inside the platform and start the exercise so that on Wednesday we will be able to discuss any eventual problem.

Now that our classes are over, first of all I would again like to thank you very much for all the engagement, attention, and motivation across the weeks together.

On this premise, as I anticipated in the classroom, the recap of the class materials to study for the exam is as follows:

Dear students,

I am sharing a short note to clarify what you are expected to do for the next two classes.

For Thursday

Please read the Tony’s Chocolonely case and the related questions, especially the questions on page 9.

As you read the case, please reflect on how it helps us consolidate the topics we have recently discussed, especially: networks; supply chains; stakeholder relationships; systemic change.

The case will help us “close” this part of the course and move toward the next step: understanding how firms respond to broader external pressures.

On Thursday, we will also work on external pressures, especially EU policy pressures. Each group will be asked to briefly share how a relevant policy, regulation, or institutional pressure may affect its focal company and key stakeholders.

For Friday

Please be ready to take stock of your work on the analytical lenses applied to your case.

In particular, each group should be ready to briefly discuss:

• which lenses you have already applied;
• what evidence you have collected;
• what is becoming clearer;
• where you still have doubts;
• what tensions or strategic issues are beginning to emerge.

On Friday, we will then move to the topic of strategy.

ancora buongiorno. Come anticipato, le presentazioni dei lavori di gruppo sul Problem Solving si svolgeranno il 21 Maggio 2026, ore 14-17.

Questa la sintesi su format e timing delle presentazioni:

1) In termini di timing, ogni gruppo avrà a disposizione 10 minuti per la presentazione, più 5 minuti, da parte mia, per domande e riflessioni;

2) Le presentazioni verranno caricate sul mio pc direttamente il giorno della presentazione; non è necessario inviarmele anticipatamente; la sequenza delle presentazioni verrà decisa ad estrazione direttamente quel giorno;

3) I formati utilizzabili per le presentazioni potranno essere solo PPT o PDF;

4) La scelta di quante voci utilizzare per la presentazione è a discrezione dei gruppi;

5) per quanto riguarda il contenuto, come sempre anticipato, non c'è un numero minimo o massimo di slides da preparare. Ma nel contenuto delle presentazioni dovranno essere chiaramente individuabili: 1) l'ambito problematico; 2) la fase di analisi, soprattutto con rappresentazione della SWOT di sintesi; 3) la conclusione del ciclo di risoluzione del problema, con associata indicazione della decisione da prendere; 4) una slide che indichi le fonti utilizzate per il lavoro.
